When writing an article, there are some tips you might find useful.

Do

→  Write a headline that is short, informative and convincing to the reader, e.g. the project is “here and now” or “near you and coming soon”.

→  Use sub-headlines to structure the text

→  Begin with the most essential information and go further into detail in the rest of the article.

→  Answer the 5 Ws as far as they are relevant: What, Who, Why, When, Where.

→  Call for action (how you ask the reader to act)

→  Include a photo, e.g. of the local people you are cooperating with (partners), the place where you plan to run your project, or an event you have held for this project.

→  Provide your contact details.

→  Have someone check your text for errors.

Don’t

→  Write long and complicated sentences: If someone has to read a sentence twice to understand it, it is too complicated.

→  Use exaggerated slogans: Stick to hard facts only but try to include easily understandable and compelling arguments, e.g. through storytelling elements and visual language.
