Renewable Energies Sources Act (EEG)

The German Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG 2021) regulates the preferential feed-in of electricity from renewable sources into the power grid and guarantees their producers fixed feed-in tariffs. Since 2000, it has gradually expanded the previous Electricity Feed-in Act.

Relevance for energy communities: This is one of the most important acts for power-related projects, as it regulates, among many other aspects, the feed-in tariffs for photovoltaics, wind energy, bioenergy etc.
