Cooperative Act (GenG)

The Cooperative Act (GenG) regulates the law of cooperatives. It came into force in Germany on 1 October 1889. According to the amendment, which came into force on August 18th 2006, it may also be social or cultural purposes, which means that social and cultural cooperatives can also use the eG legal form. This amendment to the Cooperatives Act was intended to make it much easier to set up companies and simplify matters for smaller cooperatives. (Genossenschaftsgesetz (Deutschland) – Wikipedia).
