KfW has financed almost 50% of renewable energy installed capacity in Germany. The government-owned bank offers financial support to new energy efficient buildings and energetic refurbishment of stock buildings, renewable energy projects and energy storage as well as establishment of municipal infrastructure and investments into energy efficient non-residential buildings. KfW provides also a fix grand aid for charging stations for electric vehicles.
KfW finances energy efficiency and renewable energy projects for:

- Public institutions
