The Modernisation Fund is one of the key funding instruments that contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal. Its aim is to provide a financial support to ten lower-income EU Member States in their progress towards energy systems modernisation and energy efficiency improvement. Among the spheres of project investment are generation and use of energy from renewable sources, energy efficiency, energy storage, and modernisation of energy networks, including district heating, pipelines, and grids.
